I agree, the fire risk can largely be dismissed. The unit has been designed and tested to meet the EU standards as fit for purpose.

Of far more concern are the CO emissions if the unit is operated in a confined space.

Am I correct in presuming the fuel supply and water circulation pumps associated with the Webasto system are separate from the main H/E unit ? - if so, can anyone please tell me where they are located ?
