Thanks all!
Sanj - the pics were for your benefit
The colour match is actually really good, you would never know it was from a different car. I did clean the door within an inch of its life before I fitted it and the rest of the car was dirty, but even then it still looked a great match!
The only reason I'm thinking of spraying the new door again (and that's me being fussy) is that it has a few marks on the very bottom edge where it has been stored, but apart from that, it's actually near mint condition.

The amount of satisfaction from a job like this is off the scale! If the scratches don't show then treat them to rust remedy and leave it at that, but sit on it for a few days before committing... Easy to keep spending on the new toy!
...The new one is as straight as an arrow. I might still get it painted again since they are already doing the front wing and rear qtr..
Well worth the effort,

as Sanj says sit on the final decsion for a few days
Though if your paint guys are good at the masking etc I would recommend a full side paint as you potentially have three shades (new rear door / original front door / repainted front and rear). That way he will blow in the front pillar and rear pillar and whole side will be same.
Nothing worse going to all this effort and you skip afew quid on paint for it to stick out in some lights (street lights etc), seeing how enthusiastic you r on ur new ride, it would be a shame to be dissapointed at the last hurdle

.
You could always stick in an old single din push button radio out an old maxi or allegro, get the new stereo l8tr

Thanks, I know what you mean.
I spent hundreds of pounds and hours of installation just getting my old E46 Nav screen to play Videos through my iPod, I also installed a DVD player. Along with my Intravee kit I easily spent over £500 on it, and it was still not great

The TV Tuner I had also was useless after the Digital Switchover!
If I'd had known about these units at the time I would never have bothered!
The SatNav alone is worth the upgrade from the outdated factory one with '4 digit postcode input!' and no touchscreen...in 2012!! My factory E46 Nav also had a habit of coming up 'disc read error' mid way through a journey and it would take several hours before it worked again! This is not what you want when you're 30 mins into a 5 hour drive to Newquay...

Christ, 29.5, isn't that the temp you expect on holiday, not in an X?
