Has anyone had their 4.8is done?

I really want to get mine done now but just waiting to see if I can link it up with a meet or if I need to go to London for something to help justify the 4 hour drive and the £140 fuel bill...

If you were to to link it up with a meet and i was coming i could then bring the sub enclosure with me and save you the postage mate ;) ...just a thought!
Hi I have owned BMW's for the past few years, I have always wanted to remap them but after reading scary story's, it has always put me off. I have never found anyone that comes highly enough recommended that I would trust to do this. If I lived closer I would definately have my X5 3.0d remapped after reading so many happy reviews.

Perhaps the guys from Northern Ireland / Ireland need to arrange a group buy and bring Jason over (If only there was enough from here interested on the forum)
we have a tool that we can send out the same as the switch and like the bluefin but i make the personal mods to your remap map files(so you can have the car tuned to how you want!),
viewtopic.php?f=25&t=1633

1,instal the sofware on your pc,
2,connect via usb,
3,pick the car you want to read(or we can set this when we send it),
4,connect to the cars obd socket,
5,then follow the on screen instructions,to read
6,then after the reading reconnect to the pc,it will then save your file on your pc,
7,email this to me at info@bwchiptune,
8,i will then make the mods the remap maps to how you want,ie power or more mpg or both,i will email you it back,
9,you up load this file to the tool and then instructions to flash remap mod to the car

you can then keep the tool to flash back to orignal file any time
the tool can be uploaded this mod files with 1 orignal file on the tool all the time
if you sell your car you can flash the car back to orignal and reset to a different car but will need to buy a new mod file for new car

we are also looking to have fourm flasher tools so we can send it out,you flash your car and send it back

1 mod file and remap tool to keep will cost £395 +p+p
2 mod files(power and eco mods)and remap tool to keep will cost £445 +p+p

The forum tool to remap your car will cost £250 +p+p and we will need a deposit of £250,
the deposit of £250 will be refunded on the return of the tool,so you will still get your remap at the forum price

these are an examples on the e53 x5 3.0d

we will have a offer for the 1st units 10 sold

im looking at have maybe 5 of the forum flasher tools to be availible but will ask for these to be sent back asap so others can use them

the tool will also read and clear fault codes on the engine's ecu

Its a good idea if you are worried that it might be detected by BMW or Insurers so you can just flash the original map...

The option to do it via post & email appeals as I`m a couple of hundred miles away and a journey to/from london just to get it remapped is simply not cost effective. :)

I have a question.

I have a 2004 X5 3.0D. I often use it for towing a trailer with a car on it (my track car & spares). I do NOT want to put any more stress / torque through the gearbox, i`m perfectly happy with the performance of the car as it is.

To be honest, i can`t even remember the last time I pressed the accelerator past the kickdown point

What I would like is a map that instead of giving more power/torque AND MPG, just give more MPG ? Is that possible and if so, would it give the same MPG gain as the `normal` map, or if you can do an `economy` map which yields greater gains ?

Nige.

Yes we can do an Eco map if needed,if you have the Bw switch or x console flash tool we can offer both maps on 1tool eco and power/mpg, so you can switch between maps when needed or back to the original map any time :)

To be honest, i`m looking at hiring the flash tool rather than keeping it, so I would just flash an `economy` map then i`d return the unit.

How do we proceed from here ? PM ?
