Nice one Otto  ...enjoy
Thanks. Now - is it hard to route the cable up into centre console? Would love to use my iPhone instead of iPod.

This one is bit more tricky, all the wires you have are standard and should stretch:

1. Get the KCA to sit under the rear bench seat, there's a recess in the centre, should fit, mine did
2. The wires needs to be fed under the carpet to the centre console - take out the light in the rear footwell and get your hand in to bring the cable half way through
3. Each side of the console has side panels, these have the carpet on them you see, with a split in the middle. Front one has one screw in the front footwell either side, get that out and the panels then pop off
4. There is a screw either side of the base of the console right at the back, undo these and the console should be lose enough to push the rest of the wire through
5. Now take out the internal tray under the armrest, drill a hole big enough to feed the iPod connector cable through - now you have the iPod in the centre console.
couldn't have put it better myself  ...it's a little tricky but well worth the effort....the only thing i did different is my kca is in the resses on the side of the seat.If you lift the seat cushion up by the door you will find a big resses with a polystyrene/foam shaped bung that was perfect for me as it's where i ran my cables in the far left corner of the back seat(near side)...good luck :D

Thanks Sanj, any photos of this lark? How do I remove rear bench for example ?

Is there a proper iPhone insert cradle for the compartment under the arm rest or do people just bring the cable into the coin tray thing over the cup holders instead?

anyone tried the SpecDock ? http://www.specdock.com/

Thanks

M.

Two clips under the bench, each end, just push them inwards and it releases the whole rear seat.

Pics, I'll have a look but I don't think I have any.

The cradle is not available for the E53 (the iPhone one) but Pewters did a retro-fit of one (with pics). I just drilled a hole in the bottom and fed the cable through. All stealth, the way I prefer.

You need some gloves? Avoid fingerprints, I hear they never come off your carpet

Hi Folks,

Is there any reason why you can't install the Intravee nearer the head unit. Are the connections only available near the CD changer?

I'd like to be put the iPod in the glove box without needing to buy the longer aiNet cable.

Cheers

Why put it in the glove box? It's easier to get it into the centre consol under the arm rest, and you can get your hands on it if you need to without having to stretch across to the glove box. It plugs it the cd changer in the boot.

It uses the actual CD changer connections. I've got mine in the cupholder compartment in the centre console - don't think the cables will go much further than that.

If you have Nav then the radio module, to which the CD Changer audio goes into, is under the boot floor, so the longer AI-Net cable is the easiest solution.

If you don't have Nav then it is possible to connect directly to the back of the radio behind the dash.
