Hi,

So Ive broken down in the middle of the road. Rac came and did diogs which threw up misfire in cylinders 1 2 and 3. Everything works except car won't start even though it tries it's best. Car was running lumpy at idle before it just lost power altogether.

Now waiting for tow truck. Been here 4hrs so far.

Any ideas? I'm hoping it's as simple as the coils but read cylinders 1 2 and 3 are also linked to a cat converter...

Fed up.

It's a 3.0 btw

Rather shamefully the car had no petrol. Turns out the fuel guage needle was stuck on 1/4 full so I had no reason to fill up. When the garage got the motor they said the fuel tank was bone empty.  :P

Apparantly this threw up the error codes. Fuel filled up and error codes reset car is now running like a dream and fuel guage strangely enough is also working.

Yes having no petrol in the car often has an impact on its ability to run normally. Apparently the lack of petrol also causes amnesia such that folk often forget to post back as to what the issue was. Or maybe it's just the shameful embarrassment  :))

Especially if you believe your other half about how much fuel is in the tank.  I swear the markings must move on my gauge! And it's always in the wrong direction too!!  >:(
