Centre consol removal

Thought I would create a new thread for anyone searching for consol removal how to.
This was extracted from my handbrake ratchet fix how to with a couple of small up dates.
First off put the car in drive and pull the handbrake on as hard as you can.
Pop out the hazard switch to reveal 1 screw directly below, the switch is only clipped in and you need to lever on each short side. Then the armrest cubby liner - again only clipped in but can be awkward, use trim levers to avoid scratching the plastic. This will reveal 2 more screws at the bottom and and 2 screws holding in the rear seat vents. Take these out to disconect the wiring to the vent panel - making a note of how the loom runs .Remove single screw from the carpet trim panels each side of the consol at the front and pull off the panels which will reveal 1 screw each side in the front and disconnect the white electrical connector on the passenger side (UK) and then moving to the back 2 more screws low down. Pullout the heated seats/boot relase,HDC panel ( again lever with a good sharp trim tool) and disconnect then pull up the handbrake gaiter. Pull the gear selector knob straight up to remove and then lever up the selector bezel - clipped again.Disconect plugs from bezel and remove.. At this point you should be able to remove the consol back wards whilst lifting the rear at the same time feed the handbrake gaiter throught the handbrake hole, lift the rear whils pulling backwards - watch the wiring to the rear vents - feed through the hole as you go.If you cant get the consol out because of the handbrake you may have to slacken the two handbrake actuator cable to allow the lever to be pulled up enough. Bingo your done.
