Lowering the rear

I've plugged my Scanner 1.4 into the X5 and I cant see the option to adjust the ride height, I take it it would be hidden in the ERH section (Electronic Ride Height), in that section all I can do is read/write the eprom data
Failing that, if I need to buy the adjustment links it seems OTT getting them from the US (the only place I can seem to find em), have any of you guys just made your own by buying 4 ball joints and a piece of threaded bar? If I go this route can anyone confirm that an M6 ball joint would be the one to get (save me climbing under the car)

there are uk suppliers of the lowering links
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/X5-BMW-X5-Ful ... 4897.l4275
front will be on springs unless you have ride height adjustment.
springs available on ebay.
bmw inpa can alter the ride height settings without the links, thats how i did mine, and my mates e60

Cheers bud, I would much rather go the INPA route, is INPA available on ebay much like the Scanner 1.4?
ie something like this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-OBD-INPA- ... 3397d6b359
There are even cheaper ones for around £10, but have no idea if any of them are upto it
£80 seems a bit steep for 2 pieces of plastic rod, is this what everyone pays when doing this mod?
PS already got the 30mm eibach springs coming for the front
Thanks

Well for 20 quid and the ability to change height without getting my hands dirty I think it's worth a punt. Thanks for the help

You are still going to need to get hold of the INPA/DIS software suite and database (DATEN) files which I believe is all limited to XP.

That'd work just fine.....needs Win7 Pro.
Which reminds me, Microsoft officially stopped selling the domestic versions of Windows 7 and 8.0 today. Get em while you can.

I have an old dedicated XP laptop i use for garage work so I'm hoping I'll be OK. The advert I was looking at seemed to indicate you get the latest software with it, this is the one I was gonna go with:

I've had a look at the feedback, I agree there is like 6 bad ones, but there's also many goods ones, pretty sure with an item like this that inexperienced computer users will quickly consider it a duff item, gonna give it a go - when it doesn't work I'll prepare to eat humble pie hahaha
