Complete coolant loss but no leak?

Hi all,

I've been away for the last 3 months and the car has been stood on the drive doing nothing. Everything was fine when I left it but when I returned as expected the battery was flat but also there was no coolant in it. I must have filled it with 6 or 7 litres before taking it to the garage. They have conducted a pressure test on it but can't find anything wrong?!

Where has all my coolant gone? Any ideas anyone?

Sounds like a leak, possibly in the rad rather than the engine.  Was the thermostat open or closed when they did the test?

Just wondering.

Any sign of staining under the car?

No idea on the thermostat, I'll ask them. There's no staining I can see, but it has been very wet here recently so can't really tell.

Its a brand new expansion tank and pipes as I had a leak at the start of the year and got everything replaced. It does sound like a radiator problem maybe then. I'll just have to wait and see if it does it again I suppose.

Thanks for your help.
