new (old) motorola v50

Post by Ryoken » Fri Nov 14, 2014 7:32 am

I finally got a new phone for the x5 . its one of them Motorola v50's yeah I know its very old :).
anywhoo, installed it , all the interface works and it dials out , however I cant alter any other  already stored numbers saved into the phone,
in the manual it says a phone code , but , I don't know what that relates to ?.
or would it be best a trip to the stealers?

Avoid main dealers - in any case many staff were at school in 2001 when these were supplied with earl comms pack

You need one with BMW firmware - if has a BMW logo  on screen when installed.

Beware of current drains - even with a proper firmwared one fitted.

yeah , its got the bmw logo when you turn it on,  everything works ok with the phone. apart from the car has got old phone contacts stored, and i cannot alter these or delete them ,  which is annoying , im wondering if thats what the code is used for , ?
ive looked on the manual for the car in the phone bit , and its saying in preperation for using the phone put in your code. but ive not got this

The code on 16:9 screen ikPxs fox ji :'(or engine immobiliser - leave it alone unless you have need and of course the correct code!

The V50 hopefully doesn't need a code if not locked

For deleting numbers on the dash I would initially empty phone memory and sim memory other than one number - for example "Home"

Go into directory on the car in telephone options turn radio tune knob until you see numbers you want rid of press and turn until C is selected then keep pressed until number disappears completely.

Sorry but mine is disconnected in the boot so typing this using my old BMW telephone operational manual

Oh and it doesn't have default PIN numbers typed in it.

Sorry I can't help more :)
