Would an induction leak .... or a faulty MAF sensor also cause a 3.0d Diesel to Pink ??
as Im sure I can hear my D-Sport pinking... in addition to the normal Diesel knock noises ??

I've got no flat spots or power problems, but the pinking is definitely there & I'm sure I have a induction pipe leak under the front of the vehicle where I've noticed a very loose intercooler pipe that can easily be pulled off.....

If you have loose intercooler pipe that can be easily pulled off and it hasn't blown off then it says to me your not getting any pressure from the turbo. Any kind of leak on the induction side after the maf will affect running. I would start be rigging a simple boost gauge and see what kind of pressure your getting, and then look at leak off testing the injectors.

Diesels don't suffer from pre/detonation, I don't know what could be causing the noise you're describing bit it won't be pre/det
