Yeah, great... until you buy a car at auction and discover that the security socket is missing from the car.  Ugh

All dealers hold a complete set so you can find the one that fits yours and then order one.

If they are good then they will let you have the one that fits and then re-plenish their stocks.

Thanks.  I hope they are.. I need new tyres this week.  We pulled a radius rod tonight to replace a bush... with the wheel still on.  Ugh.  We tried the three others we own between us.  No joy.  Trying another friend's tomorrow.... then, off to the dealer.

I did think about hammering in a bolt... but didn't get that far

There are 38 different ones I think.....so the odds were pretty long you would have one in three cars.... ;)

i lost mine and realised on the day of a tyre change on a booked in black circles job.  Went to my local BMW dealer, lincoln, and they tried there master set on my wheel nuts, be watchful as about three roughly fit on mine due to how close they are.  it cost me £6.50 for a new key, i took a picture on my phone and counted the spline to ensure i got the correct key fitment. they gave me the key out of there master set and ordered a spare to replace theres.

Just weld a nut onto it and save all the messing about

I had thought about that... but went to the dealer and pulled them there.  Whacked in some spare bolts that a mate loaned me.
