X4 - Not on Churchill or their Underwriters system?

Just had quite a long drawn out process trying to get my new X4 put onto my Churchill insurance policy. Neither they or their underwriters had details for any X4 model. Found that a bit strange.

I know X4 owners are in the minority, but I expected the model to be identified by now.... It came out last September.

Was literally asked if my car was every model in the 4 Series range...
Is it a 420d sir?, No.
Is it a 430d sir?, No.
Is it a 435d sir?, No.
Is it the 435d with x-Drive sir? No.

We have an X1, X3, X5, X6, is it any of those sir? No, its an X4.
We don't have one of those...

Is it an M4 sir?, No!

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!

Anyhow. They manually entered the details over the phone talking to their underwriters as I read them the spec from the BMW website.... I hope I'm insured!

When the E53 engine size changed it took ages before the insurers woke up to it.  I had a similar conversation with Aviva about it.  It seems a lot of companies use a common commercial database run by a third party, and if that doesn't get updated properly then they're all wrong!
