Hello..

made the mistake of taking the X5 through Knowsley Safari Park and the bastard monkeys peeled back and bent the rear window trim!! (its the black aluminium type trim)

its was to badly damaged to go back on.. just trying to find replacement but can't find any on eBay.. I'm guessing I'm not using the correct search for it.

any idea's where I can pick one up?

Wheel alignment

I've got very bad outside wear on rear passenger side tyre. I've not had the car aligned since I've had it.. are the hunter ones worth the money or should I just get standard alignment at any garage?

Thanks

If you use Realoem to find the part number, then search on that to see who might have one on sale...

I would try the dealers for the trim. The rear tyre wear can be due to worn rear ball joints. You can't see any play in them unless you unload the air pressure from the rear air bags., this can be done by supporting the body on axle stands and de pressurising the air suspension.

hunter wheel alignment is the only way to go , anything else is a complete waste of money, excessive tyre wear on the inner edges is the sign that the lower rear suspension ball joints are worn , hope that helps

Use realoem to find the part as suggested above then contact Phil at Cotswold BMW for a price.  Bmminiparts are also worth a try but for a single item Phil will probably be cheaper.

I genuinely have no idea why folk take their cars through safari parks as you have to cost in the factor of 'removed parts' - the monkeys pretty much expect to be able to remove something

What you do is take a hire car and pay the extra tenner a day to have the fully comp "return it in a bag of bits cover". Or get a mate to take you in their car. Far cheaper ........ :)  :))

As Horizon said your rear tyre wear could be due to rear ball joints!
That was the problem I had due to rear tyre wear!  :-[
