Cant advise without looking at it.......could be an instalation issue could be another part.

I would perhaps find a good video or diy guide and cross check with what was done &/or refit.

If at a loss call alan roberston in hove andnbook it in.

Sorry I cant be of more use

The passenger door on our X started to be temperamental central locking button would come up all other doors OK handle would pull but not operate the mechanism. Then it started to not open inside or out. I had to get the door card off with the door shut which was fun !! But doable with care you will sacrifice just about all the plastic clips so order those first. Then with me operating it from inside the door we got it open.
The lock mechanism its self was badly corroded a mixture of White oxidation and rust I cleaned as much as possible with a small wire brush on the dremel and then wedged a foam pad (fish filter) under the lock and soaked it with good old WD40 then kept working the lock by hand until it was completely free then smothered it with spray lithium grease. Removed the foam and reassembled the door using new clips. We have had no problems for the last year. I would have a check of the lock mechanism not just the handle
