Any members with the H&R lowering kit?

Post by POC » Sun Sep 13, 2015 9:22 am

I keep coming across various pics on the US forums, cars fitted with the H&R spring kit.  Very tempted to get the kit for my new (to me) X.

I previously had intended to do this to my last E70 but never got round to it.  I've just picked up an 08 4.8i msport.

Anyone on here got the kit fitted?  Looking for a bit of feedback.  I've fitted H&R to quite a few cars in the past and generally find they actually improve the ride on Msport cars.

Overall it's down to aesthetics, personally I think a lowered E70 looks great!!

Tia, Paul

Think the 1.2" drop doesn't hurt ride like the 2" drop ones do.

I have on KW v3 coilovers, lovely bit of kit.

Any pics of your lowered x?

Do you have air on the rear? Lowering links? What kind of costs are involved with coilovers?

Thanks, Paul

I was about to order some H&R springs for my X6, there seems to be 3 kits available, part numbers :
29078-3 , 29078-4 and 29078-6

Does anyone know what the difference is ?

Prices in the UK seem to be around the £260-300 mark .

Prices from German suppliers seem to be around £130 mark + £20 odd shipping .

That looks great, identical colour and wheels to my car.

Do you have air suspension on the rear?  Where did you source the suspension kit in the UK?  Rough cost?

Thanks, Paul

Yes I have air suspension on the rear. I bought the kit from PSI tuning. Brand new they are around £1900.

I am selling the coilovers next month as I am moving onto completely different setup (full airstruts with digital management) so they will be up for sale in the not to distant future if you interested.

Wow thats some serious cash!  As much as I'd love to say I'd be interested I suspect that even the second hand price will be a little north of my budget.

Really does look good though, what did you use to lower the rear?  How much drop do you have on the front?

Looking good, was tempted to buy the X6 but I kept coming back to the X5!  How much have you lowered it?

Sorry no that's not mine but a previous member. He's got his E70 on here too. Will try to dig out the link for that too.

Tried - but he's removed all his old pics. :(
