Hello all,
Right can anyone help. I have recently purchased a 2004 facelift E53 X5 which so far I'm very pleased with. Only issue so far is I can't connect to the blutooth.
I've tried the set as per the manual to no avail. I've checked fuses in boot all good.
I investigated around the connection button around centre console where I have found a brown wire and white wire cut. I've rejoined them still nothing.
I. Then took the bluetooth module out of boot for 1/2 hour to try and reset it. The telephone option on radio then went. On reconnection it cane back up but again no connection available.
I've read quite a lot on Internet regarding this but Im getting no where. Is there anyway I can test the module to see if it's that??
A few days after purchasing the car the traffic lights on stereo came on. Don't know what buttons I had pressed but it's giving me hope it may work.
When I press the connection button in centre console or steering wheel there's no "bleep" as I belive there should?when I press R/T button it just comes up ACTIVATE PHONE. I don't really want to buy a new module and it's no that as there expensive second hand. I want to keep it original as I don't want to stick aftermarket boxes in the dash like a parrot.
Can anyone give me any advice????? >:( >:(

Only use the centre console button for pairing, the steering wheel button is voice activation.

Ignition off, hold the pairing button down, turn on the ignition still holding the button down 5 secs release the button the screen will say pairing and the lights flash. Check your phone is searching and when asked enter the BMW Bluetooth passkey (should be on a card with your handbooks or on the unit in the boot)
You can also start pairing through BMW 1.4.0 software if you have it or know someone who does near you.

If the bluetooth memory is full you may have to clear some entries before you can pair.
