E53 Rear suspension sagging on passenger side.

Hi all,
I took my x5 (2005) for its MOT the other day and it passed with flying colours! The guy who tested it did point out that the offside rear tyre was scrubbing on the inside so asked him to thoroughly check the bushings etc which he did and again said they were all good.
I had noticed sometimes that the rear passenger side seemed a little lower than the driver side and also noticed it pulled slightly to the left so Im now guessing that either the air bag has had it or the air lines are leaking????

First question is.....how do I check for leaks and if the compressor is working ok?

2. are the "OEM quality" air bags on ebay ok to replace the old ones with?

3. If it is the airbag then is it better to just remove both sides and fit the coil spring kit from ebay?

4. How easy is it to fit the airbags and how easy is it to fit the springs?

Thank you for any input on this.
Paul.

does it appear sagged with the engine running and compressor working?
it would be a serious leak to sag on one side whilst driving.
if, when it appears sagged, if you start the car does it appear to pump up the suspension at all?

Yes it still seems sagged when engine is running, I cant hear any hissing etc. I am guessing that it is driving sagged tho as it has severely scrubbed the driver side rear tyre on the inside tread (1.5 inch approx) and the tyres were new on 15k ago, also there is the issue of it pulling slightly to the left too, its always done it for the year I have owned it and thought it was the tracking, so am guessing this was already an issue.

Mine had one of the little height sensor mounts all rusted to sheet. So it was deformed, and the sensor itself seemed to be seized up. The dashboard was complaining about rear auto-level failure.

£30 at the BMW dealer for that bit cured it.  I'd say you should inspect those little critters too.
