Can i disable PDC

Post by Smeeagain » Fri Oct 23, 2015 12:30 am

When is select Reverse gear (2004 E53 3.0D) the rear pdc alarm starts beeping.sometimes it is random sometimes it is a the usual intermittent beep, sometimes just continuously on when in Reverse. All sensors have the clicking sound coming from them and I ve cleaned any crud off them

Can I diable the sensor. With bmw scanner 1.4.0 or in some other way. or clear/reset them?

thoughts?

You need to plug in and find the faulty sensor

BMW scanner 1.4.0 can disable front or back banks of sensors.

buy one of these, its as essential as a jack and wheel brace these days, will tell you exactly which sensor is duff, replace it and keep your pdc working. Will reset warnings and also displays live running conditions, temps, pressures etc

Thanks but no I don't need to do that, as stated above I have the 1.4.0 and will use that to look on their to see if it throws up a fault. If not then I will disable rear for now (thanks to Fenj for that) as I have a specific reason for needing it disabled (or fixed)

That said each one appears to be working perfectly as you approach an obstacle - the sensor beeps comes on as soon as I hit reverse, and noticeably it stays on when driving away in D until I hit the pdc button on the centre console
This makes me think the fault is there and not with any individual sensor
