Guys, my boot lid doesn't seem to have a great deal of enthusiasm when it comes to opening and therefore want to replace the them as I have just installed some of those auto open boot lid springs.
Have anyone recommend any or any to avoid? or as most similar?

Was it ok before fitting the springs?
I did the mod on my E53 last weekend and it is fine.

No, I guess they were under performing before the springs were fitted.

I fitted some e wizzy au opening springs & bought some NEW struts, (not OEM) and they still don't lift the tailgate, maybe in this instance the OEM parts are better ??
Any one got any thoughts on this....
I was even wondering if I could double up the rams some how ....?
Penny for your thoughts guys..

Bit concerning, don't want to buy some, just for them to be useless. Think I will post on the other X forum to see what they have found.
Will keep you updated.

You can often have your existing struts re-gassed here more cheaply than dealer:

Used them a few times for car and caravan

There's a few companies that do custom ones too like
http://www.gasstruts.co.uk/
I'd personally just get a genuine OE set and be done with it.

Just checked this site and they can also uprate the struts for extra load. Will drop them a message for a quote.
