Made the transition from Z4 to X4
Hi all, I'm a newbie to this forum, but a very active Z4Forum user and yesterday traded my E86 in for the F26:
6 years ago, I signed up to the z4 forum to show my admiration for the Z4 Coupe, I was only 24 at the time and had only owned 1 BMW before then (E36 320i SE Saloon).
I knew at the time that I wouldnt be able to afford one or the insurance for a few years and sure enough 2 years later in 2011 I got the bug again and started my search. It was a tough time because buying the Z4 meant I had to sell my E24 635Csi and my 92 VW Scirocco 16v.
It took me 4 months to find the right car, sell both of mine and do a deal on it, eventually ending up on the 1st Feb 2012 with Dead End:
It was my 3rd real coupe and I loved it. Although always more of a garage queen, the zed had a few upgrades over that time.
Almost 5 months ago, I got married and with the mrs also having a 3 door car, decided one had to change. Unfortunately with the change of my job role it had to be the zed and so Transformation time it was again..
Goodbye pics (sorry about the angles etc)
So say hello to Dead End's replacement to be named: Trailbreaker
Points to anyone who can guess the Model, Trim, Exterior & Interior colours and bonus points to anyone who can get any of the optional extras!
All moved in next to my dads A7:

Re: Made the transition from Z4 to X4
Thanks for the warm welcome guys,
Its the Sophisto Grey Xirallic Paint and yes 20D M Sport X4 Sports Auto.
Has the Ivory White with Black interior and Fineline Anthracite Wood finish.
Other options are:
M Sport Plus Pack (20" M Double-spoke style 310 M 2VX Alloys, Sun protection glass, Loudspeaker system – harman/kardon, high beam assist, adaptive headlights, )
Media package – BMW Professional Nav with large screen display
Exterior mirrors – folding, automatically dimming
Seat adjustment – front, electric with driver memory
5 Year Service Pack
Climate Comfort windscreen
The only thing missing that I wanted was the Reversing Camera which is being dealer retro-fitted.
The black grilles were courtesy of the previous owner!
Glad to see a familiar face PVR - no cheating now on the z4forum!

Re: Made the transition from Z4 to X4
Thanks all - one thing Ive already noticed is there is no sunglasses holder as per my old E86 .. I've tried storing them in the arm rest but they get crushed by my phones! Any other suggestions?

Re: Made the transition from Z4 to X4
Cheers Lee & thanks Reusch! )
I found this description ( Motor Trend review located here: http://www.motortrend.com/new_cars/04/bmw/x4/) to be precisely me:
"The tortured logic behind the X4 probably goes something like this: If you think a 3 Series wagon is too carlike, an X3 too much like a boring SUV, a 3 Series Gran Turismo practical but not sporty enough, a 4 Series Gran Coupe sporty but not practical enough, and you definitely don't want to drive a 3 Series sedan like everyone else, then the X4 is the perfect vehicle for you."

Nice car. As I am the proud owner of an X3, could you tell me how it cost to have the reversing camera retro fitted by the $tealership?

Re: Made the transition from Z4 to X4
The list cost was supposed to be around £1400 inc labour and parts, I managed to get them down to around £800 but presumably every dealer is different and I had to fight hard with them
