E70 LCI Buying Advice

Hi Guys,

I'm in the market for a BMW X5 E70...I had an initial budget of £20k but I am stretching this to around £22,500 in order to get an LCI...

What other benefits am I getting for going for an LCI? As far as I'm aware...

Better economy, 8 speed gearbox, better lights, newer idrive and better looking exhausts.

Anything else?

Also is there anything i should be looking out for? i've heard the panoramic roofs can be troublesome at times?

This is the X5 I'm thinking of viewing...

Is there are any must have extras? This one looks quite kitted out!

Check the corrosion on the centre hubs of the alloys- mine have got considerably worse in 6 months

Paddle shift was a cost option on many E70 trims, whether LCI or not.  Only standard on the X6.

Also, not guaranteed to have 8 speed gearbox, that came later than the first LCIs

Am I doing the right thing trying to stretch to a LCI model or would it still be okay buying a pre-LCI which will probably be a couple of grand cheaper...

Rickz, spend the extra few k and go for the LCI, a no brainer if you can make the stretch in my opinion. CIC system which is miles better than the CCC, 8 Speed GB,  upgraded front and rear lights  with slighly improved body. Obviously you already kniw all this... Just picked my early LCI up (2010) and abosuletly love it having moved on from my 2997 335d (CCC).

Hope this helps

As said above the 8 speed box and updated idrive are worth the extra so if you can afford it then do it you wont regret it
