Heater Blower Motor - anybody had to change?

Seasons greeting all!

My heater decided to 'max' out a few weeks backs and I replaced the FSR/hedgehog with a genuine BMW one and all was fine. This weekend the heater suddenly stopped working all together  the control panel still functioned but nothing coming out of the vents.

The old FSR was put back in to test and the heater kicks back on full again, so the replacement FSR has blown.
The auto-elec reckons that the heater motor (the one behind the dash) is the most likely culprit for blowing the new FSR. His thoughts are putting another FSR in is only going to end up blowing it again and has suggested the motor blower needs to be changed.

Looking on line this looks like a dash out job with a fair few hours labour.
Anybody has this issue where the hedgehogs keep blowing and having the replace the heater motor? What sort of time/costs did you have?

TIA
Max

just done mine
it's not a bad job if you can tackle jobs like this yourself
I own a bodyshop so dash boards out is second nature to me lol
take you time and you will be fine dash takes about 1hr to take out then you can get to all the actuators and motor
make sure all actuators are working as the fan need moving air or it will over heat and seize a common problem on these

Thanks Madhouse

Having had a look at some YouTube videos on this, there's a strong likelihood I would be left with a hand full of screws if I tried to put back the dash back in after taking it out  :))

Looks like it going to be a few quid my dealers way, unless you are local and fancy doing another??  O:-)

I will speak to a few of local indies this week to see what sort of figures they are quoting.

Did you replace with oem parts? Both heater motor and FSR?

Quick update on this.

No new heater motor needed, no new FSR needed, it just appears the repacement hedgehog has not been plugged in correctly  ::) the replacement was tried again and all is working again fine just as it should be

Normal service has been resumed  :)
