intravee pdc distance display

I've just got an intravee, really pleased... but....pdc set on auto, distance display doesn't come up on nav screen unless mode is selected to be playing iPod and iirc (it is late now!) now playing screen is displayed. Basically, if I have the obc display on, no distance indication. It does however come up on the display below the Speedo and rev counter. (High OBC?). Any ideas? Need to replace screen as well as it has a dead area which covers 2 of the sensor readings but that's another problem, as is my iPod going to sleep. That's where I'm going now!! Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

I've not looked at the Intravee for 2 years now but you need to do a search on here to get some answers plus, Google Intravee to get the unit updated. That will help you with the sleep issues on the iPod too.

Rain stopped briefly. Seems I have an issue with the USB to serial adapter cable. Something to do with unable to open port Com1. Have tried renaming ports through device manager, no luck. Software showing on intravee is 7043, update is 7045 so may well address sleep issue. Got cold and dark so I'm going back to it another day. May need a new cable.

ipod goes to sleep if not used for a long time, you'd need to manually turn it .. was my experience too.

Now using an iPhone 4 in place of iPod......sleep issue is not always present. Sometimes it is awake, sometimes not!! It appears to be quite random!! I've seen a mod to the KCA 420i box, a bit expensive if I make a hash of it. Going for a new cable to try the update again.......It would be boring if it was easy!!

16 hours was one thought for deep sleep on the apple devices (no doubt differs from device to device).
Also mention of calender or other related alerts to keep the apple device 'awake'. A guy called RichardP is the guru on this unit - he is an old member and worth getting in touch with.
Take it you've looked
herealready?

Thanks Sanj, I hadn't seen that one despite extensive searches over the last couple of weeks. I have seen RichardP pop up on a couple of forums tho. Looks like interesting reading for the weekend. Early start tomorrow, hoping for some dry weather at the weekend to go for an update again. Thanks again.

I'm sorry I couldn't post earlier to help you out. One of those things with me now, love the car but house building seems to have taken over... Need to fall back in love with the X... Sorry.

No problem. Love mine too otherwise I would have given up by now. Enjoy the challenge and sense of achievement when I get stuff sorted. Good luck with the building, hope the weather is kind to you

Mark I have done this mod on 2 KCA 420i boxes successfully. Its best if you have one of those 'helping hands' gadgets (Maplins for a few £). It works perfectly.

Thanks, will look into one of those. Might need a bit more help, being of the mechanical persuasion by trade, small electricals take a little more effort :'(
