Power Tuning Box

Post by bluestreak56 » Wed Jan 27, 2016 12:14 pm

Seen these for sale on ebay, simple plug and play, claim to increase power, torque and fuel economy:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131634315874

They come in all engine sizes. Anyone had any experience of these? Are they a waste of money?

More interested from the fuel economy perspective than anything else..

Thanks in advance ;)

From memory (and I'm happy to be corrected), they fool the ECU into over fueling. As such I'm not sure how they can improve economy.

Just been reading up and apparently some do exactly that (couple of wires as a cheap transistor inside nothing more!) While others actually do the job I guess its hard to know with this sort of listing but likely too good to be true at this price  :noexpression:

Have any of you done a dyno run to put these to the test?
Seem a little too cheap to be true to me.

Hi I have not done synonym run as no four wheel drive ones near me but you can tell the difference when you take it off

Especially as the gearbox adapts to the extra power after a short while

I have had loads of customers come in to test different boxes boxes

I would advise anyone who has fitted a diesel box to get your car Dyno tested on a with the box on and off
You will be surprised

Here's an example of a bluespark box on the strongest 2011 123d I've had on my Dyno ever as a standard car
It made 214bhp

standard 214bhp 320ft (green line)

With the bluespark box fitted it made 222bhp (8bhp more) 340ft  (20ft more) (blue line)

The customer asked me to tune his car our way
BW remap made 257bhp (43bhp more) 365ft (45ft more) (red line )
