Driving without binnacle

Any body any idea if the car will still run ok without the binnacle. Need to get it repaired.

Not 100% sure on the E53 (it can't be done on the E7x) but I think there are linkages into the systems so you could create mayhem. 

It's also illegal to drive without a speedo as the vehicle is fitted with one as standard.

mine had to be run for a weekend when i sent mine away. as far as i remember the car ran ok apart from the indicators didn't go on and off. so i had to constantly pull/let go the indicator stalk!!  :D

you may get many an error code as there are a lot of systems that look for the instrument cluster to be there..
EGS, EWS, DME / DDE etc

Also if you clock up too many miles there will be a disparity between the several locations it stores it and you could get the tamper dot light up.




These things are so temperamental anyway, why would you willingly give it an excuse to bite you in the @rse???
