Guess the fob. Got this fob with my other diamond keys but having just replaced the batteries at a cost of nearly £7, it works (ie.  'On' button makes green light flash continuously,  'off' button does just that with a long red flash) but nothing happens to or in the car. Your answers on a postcard to........

You need to do this:

How to attach piccies instructions.

It could be you have the auxiliary heating option, cost option that uses the Webasto to preheat the car?  If it is fitted then that is the remote for it.  Not seeing any pics it is a shot in the dark  :)

Is your vehicle a diesel?

If so it could be fitted with a remote pre- heater that heats the water before you start the car.

So on a cold morning you use the remote to start the pre - heater then when you start the car 30 mins later you have instant heat

Thats identical to the remote for my Webasto on my 4.8 - they are over £200 new!

Right then! Looks like I have a webasto auxiliary heater remote. Now to find out why it's not remoting the webasto into life. Is there a specific setting or switch somewhere?
Thanks peeps.  :)

Good guess then  :)

If you haven't noticed it running on very cold days then I suspect the unit itself has failed.  The Webasto fires up in engine heat mode if the air temp falls below 5°C.  Do you hear a 'ticking' sound from under the front passenger seat for a few minutes after first starting on frosty mornings?

To see if it is running on a cold morning, also check under the car below the front passengers door.
The exhaust for the Webasto heater is there, and you should be able to tell if it is running from that.

Gave the webasto a good wd40 deep clean and with puff of rather thick diesel heavy smoke,  it sprang to life courtesy of the remote fob. Yay! Another 'working' option.
Thanks all.
