Has anyone got any experience of painting their brake calipers? Any do's or don'ts? Any brands to look out for, good and bad?

Yeah, done this to mine... for years.... you will need to repaint the fronts every 6 months, as the heat & dust will bite into the paint, but its also a good reason to check your pads & pipes etc at the the same time..
pm me with you email address & I will wizz you some decent pictures.
Re paint... I get the Halfords RED Caliper paint..... a good wire brushing is required 1st, then a wash off with soapy water..... dry in the sun for a few hours & paint a hot caliper.
I use the Brush on paint, as the spray tends to flake off soon after..
Paint a thin layer 1st, allow to dry for an hour, then a 2nd coat.... don't put too much on & spread it around for a drip free finish...
When dried & hardened a couple of days later, thoroughly wash with soapy water, rinse, dry & then spray a coat of clear Wheel lacquer in a couple of light dust coats to seal the paint.
Specifically the Alloy wheel lacquer because it is a much harder more durable finish then body lacquer.
Use the Halfords own brand paint/lacquer to ensure compatibility of chemicals.
Job Done.
