I have a funny feeling that the exhaust 'dampener' on my 4.4 is seizing every now and then. You know, the solenoid thing bolted to the exhaust under the driver seat.
Now, does anyone know how this thing works? I can't see how it can stop vibrations in the exhaust.

It's a solid lump of rubber not a solenoid. The wire that I thought was going to it is actually for one of the O2 sensors. Learn something new everyday... At least I know it's not seizing.
