Parking brake faulty
Parking brake faulty
Has anyone seen this fault warning? "Parking brake faulty car may roll"
Re: Parking brake faulty
Could be caused by bad (as in worn shoes), fuse or a faulty parking brake activation servo.
The first option is cheap, the latter one isn't! Electronic parking brake drive unit failures are becoming more common and repairs are £600+ as the unit cannot be fixed only replaced. It can either lock on or off.
The gear unit inside the motorised device fails and with it being inside a sealed unit it has to be replaced. Several folks in here have suffered this recently.

Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
Re: Parking brake faulty
I had this a couple of months ago. Took it to the dealer and they did a system reset, that was it. I think they charged me around £80.
Keeping it shiny side up.

Mine had siezed cables. Garage replaced the cables and the light went off.
