Evening,

I am off to see a lovely Estoril Blue 4.6is on Saturday. I looked up the vin decoder and it has electric rear backrest and rear Airconditioning. I've not seen these on any others, I remember reading somewhere that these are rare.

Has anyone got them/ got any advise regarding them.

haven't got the electric backrests but have the rear a/c which I don't think is that rare. It's fed down the center consul, has a rotary wheel which operates a switch to control a flap up front to direct hot/cold a/c air to rear vents which are controlled as per front ones, also has under front seat outlets. People tell me it's very good, that tells you that I don't sit in the back, much prefer up front right hand side.
BTW If you buy, enjoy. Brilliant motor.

The rear electric seat adjustment is pretty unusual to find, the rear aircon is as well, albeit less so. There is also another strange , relatively rare option on E53s, an electric sliding boot floor.  The adjustment of rear "rake" on the seats is popular for rear seat passengers as is rear aircon.  Doesn't affect the driver though so you are unlike

I will keep you updated how I get along on Saturday and will try to remember to take some pictures if I do indeed buy the car.

Currently wishing my life away until i view.. Been looking for a while and haven't yet had "this is the one" moment.

Mine has rear AC and rear heated seats. And rear window blinds.. I did view an X5 before I got mine and it had the sliding rear luggage base- very strange. Seemed really cumbersome.

The one I am looking at this Saturday is rather well spec'd having all the toys I wanted and more, i.e. Front and rear heated seats, Air-con front and rear, sunroof, Electric backrest, Nav, TV.

I am just hoping I get there and it isn't a dog under the bonnet!!

Time will tell..
