Does anyone know , if you send an abs module away for repair to somewhere like bba, do you just send the electronic part or the whole thing including the pump ?
Who's cheapest etc ?
Or is there a way to repair it myself ?
Tia.

had mine done last year .... all you do is take the electronic module off and wait for ups to collect
you can drive the car but there is no abs / traction control / speedo ..... i'm not too sure how things would go for you if you had an accident

Driving a vehicle without a working speedo is an offence under the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986.

I wonder how that would work if you used your sat nav (not the factory one) or a gps speedo app on your phone ??

and yes i did use my x5 a couple of times while the abs ecu was away being fixed

Found one that will do it for £69 or £15 if not faulty. Ok just a bit wary as to wether these repairs work

Neither would get you out of it as they were not what the car was type approved with.  Vehicle would be classed as not roadworthy and if anything went wrong the whole library would be thrown at you.

So if I use the car without the module , how do I clear the faults that will arise from driving it without abs ?  Will inpa clear it ?

I must have missed something, why are you sending off the module, what has indicated that there is a problem with it. Is it not talking with the wheel sensors. what checks have you done that tells you it's the module and not a sensor. Just curious.

No response from control unit in inpa diagnostic, speed sensors checked,  angle sensor fault showing up but can't communicate with abs module so putting it down to that for now , get it tested and fixed if faulty .

weather permitting I'm going to do the resistance checks of the sensors from the module plug tomorrow. Not convinced thats the problem.
