New BMW & X5 owner here.

I've found what I'm looking for after a few weeks of hunting about and will be picking up an E70 30d M Sport next week after a few trials and tribulations and a disappointing RAC check on a private sale.

I've posted on here a few times while speculatively looking for my new car so thanks already for the help - I am sure that I'll be tapping you up again in the near future.

Thanks Colin... Don't be sorry for me. That's why I had the check done much better to find out after a few hundred quid than a big chunk more.

I did talk to the vendor and told him what the report said and offered to still buy the car if we could get it inspected by an independent, local garage to verify if there were issues or not but after initially agreeing he backed out so we called it off.

Deposit paid now anyway and I'm just looking forward to getting on board the new steed next week.
