Is it normal?

Hello, is it normal that turning steering wheel in E70 lift with Active Steering is very light, very little resistance? E53 is much harder. Maybe its not bad on city, but on the road I prefer harder E53. At higher speeds it gets maybe a little harder, but not like E53, it seems like E53 driving and steering more trustworthy.

Hi

It may be you had a different wheel size on the old E53 compared to the E70 if same worth checking tyre pressures to make sure they are correct.

Other than that it might be the E70 has more assistance at manoeuvring speed, but I've not really notice much difference and both of mine had 20" wheels

E53 has 19" and winter 17". I not feel very big difference beetwen them, just in comfort, certainly not in turning/steering force and resistance. E70 has 20". Computer showing ok pressure. It seems technical issue but everything looks ok, no errors, or it's normal and it's E70 systems feature, maybe this active steering. Detriment I not ridden different E70 to check it :(

E70 has electromechanical assist rather than just hydraulic and it is (on my X6) rate adaptive so changes with speed.  Lighter than the E53.

E70 is hydro as standard (same as E53) or adaptive/active (electromech) as an option.

As I understand it's normal? In my opinion, in compare with E53, it's too light, but ok if it isn't issue and impossible to make it harder.

I noticed 2 more things in my new E70 which are worry me, first I hear very strange noise when I forgive gas pedal and I let car slow down on gear. Noise is very strange, first thing which I can compare this noise is washing machine, when washing machine is disable and you manually rotating a barrel of washing machine by using hand. You know what noise from washer I mean. This noise is something like this. What it can be? Transfer box, gearbox? Maybe it is combined with second thing, for sure 2nd gear is very hard, car throws, 3 and 4 gears less, but I think they are hard too. Higher gears are ok in my opinion. In gentle city driving, everything with gears is ok, but in dynamic, agressive drive gearbox not working as this should in my opinion, this hard gears, palpable gear changes. This is facelift from '10 with 200k km's, I hope it's not seems like end of gearbox and will be needed regeneration, oil never changed and maybe this will fix,  but I heard if gearbox oil was never changed throw 150-200k km's then better don't change oil before complete regeneration of gearbox/mechatronic/converter etc. because it damage gearbox, it's true?.  Thanks for any suggestions.
