Whilst foraging in the shed I found the above, including USB. but no CD. Must be an age thing cos I can't ever remember buying it. does anyone know where I can get just the CD.

It's called Carsoft 1.4.0 if I remember correctly.
When I got my scanner 1.4.0 the disc was corrupt, so I downloaded the carsoft software and it worked fine once I got my head around loading the drivers, which was a faff.

I've got a screen up listing what seems like all the modules and telling me to plug in and switch on the ign. surely it isn't that easy.

That's the easy bit, you have to plug the scanner into the car, as the scanner box is powered from the car, not the computer, then you have to load the drivers.

Didn't think it was that simple, plugged into the car, switched on ign and get a small overlay screen saying "hardware not ready" what does that mean.I am getting a green light when plugged in. The computer is an old Windows 7 32bit. Works fine with VCDS(vagcom)

You'll need the Win7 drivers for it. Scanner software 1.4.0 was an XP product. Either that or is using Win7 pro, run a virtual machine inside it - and that needs you to be very computer savvy too!

Not tried it but perhaps looking for PASoft Scanner drivers for Windows 7. Purely a guess though as I have an old XP box.
