I had original posted this thread in the wrong section.

We have just purchased a X6 with factory fitted Bosal towbar but the 13 pin socket only has 10 pins wired. Has anyone got around this problem? The BMW dealer say they can not help and the local towbar people can not help and the local Indespension dealer can not help, even after their Bristol office said they could.

If it is a factory/dealer fitted towbar and electrics it is down to them to fit and wire correctly, go back and create a stink.
There are numerous posts where dealer has been made accountable.

Agreed here, if they haven't wired it up properly, get them to sort it out. Don't let them try to fob you off with it.
