Hi All
Does anyone running on LPG have any kind of a Valve Saver Protection Kit fitted to their vehicle?
Whats your opinion on them??? Are they a good investment??? Are they needed with today's engine???
thanks

I had a BRC kit fitted to my E61
When I went for the first annual service (in my ownership) I asked about valve saver, and was told that all recent German cars didn't need it as LPG is very popular over there.

Funny that this should come up actually
My 3l has one fitted and its been there since before I bought the car
I've always had problems running on lpg with bank 2 running rich but never been able to figure out what was causing it

Last Friday I took the car to a guy I know who is an lpg legend
He had the same problem.... We looked at lambda sensors and everything... One thing he mentioned was that BMW's don't need a flashlube
After a while talking and brainstorming we came to the conclusion that the flashlube was causing the problem because it was pooling in the manifold and draining down to bank 2
We closed off the flashlube and watched the fuel trims over the next 50 miles and slowly everything is coming back to normal

Never had one on my 4.6, and when I took the engine apart because of timing chain problems, the valves and seats were in very good condition
