Just back after a week away and blown away with the fuel consumption..........

Just arrived back from a 8 days vacation too Devon in the X5 3ltr Diesel Le-Man,never missed a beat over the 550 miles that i covered, but what really blew me away was the fuel consumption which averaged 36mpg this included motorway and very rural lane driving.
Only thing that was nerve racking was driving most of the week around country roads that for the most part was only 6ft 6'' wide
) both door mirrors had to be folded in to give me some extra clearance, but this was the first really long distance trip in the X5 and was just pure enjoyment and a real pleasure.
Absolutely gutted that it rained all week but tomorrow its nice and sunny but of course we are back home again, the motor will get a thorough inside and out valeting as its covered in mud and not from off roading but from the tractors leaving mud on the country roads.
And to think it was only 2-3 weeks ago i was doubting myself should i keep it or not,but glad i decided to keep it for the long term enjoyment that it will give us.
