Undecided.......batteries have a finite life (around 10 years per pack) and just use power from power stations so not emission free. Interestingly they do emit particulates too (brakes, tyres etc).
For now the range is too short for my commute, or they are way to expensive if the range is better.
I am waiting to see if the Tesla 3 proved to be any good in reality. RHD versions are not due until 2019 which is when my Škoda lease is up.
‘Ludicrous Mode’ does sound fun though

Not really a surprise if it is Aluminium or plastic repairs needed. Ali is tricky stuff to fix. Perhaps Tesla are using BMWs pricing model....... >:(

Hi
I think as the technology and battery life is changing so quickly with fully electric cars it may be better to lease PCP a car in the short term until the tech is established for range and battery life.
Also I am not sure about residuals but do know the cars had a £5k subsidy originally but were still expensive compared to a petrol or diesel car and the cost of replacing the batteries on a secondhand car would as I understand would very be costly, but then again a BMW engine would be costly.
If using the car in and around town or short journeys then I can see the point, as in London it's congestion and stop start traffic an that cause worse pollution etc etc so it would help. However, if you are say a rep covering an area of several counties or going on a long trip I don't think it would be that practical, and would go go a hybrid option if buying new now.
From seeing one or two electric cars on the road they can be quite nippy but at the cost of the range, and a few members on head went for the Nissan Leaf as they did have a good deal on a couple of years ago. So really horses for courses in my view.

They may be the future, but until we solve the infrastructure problems I can’t have one. I dont have a driveway and its like winning the lottery if I actually get parked outside my house, so charging is the issue for me.
