Hi can anyone help  me I am trying to find a 4.6  M62 V8 Engine bottom end or even just a bare crankcase to allow me to rebuild my that has thrown a leg threw the block. They are looking a bit scarce at present.

I sold my complete running car to a breakers in Birmingham called Birmingham Motor Works on evil bay. Engine had done 40000 miles since rebuild so they might still have it in

I found some bodywork bits for a 4.6i a while back off EBay from a company called Mcfall spare in Merseyside.

Probably easiest to have a search on eBay as there are always cars being broken.

Also there was a post last year on buy and sell for one to be broken but I can't remember the forum members name

what caused it to throw a rod, surely that's unusual??

It looks like it had catastrophic oil pump failure at high rpm  .

Shouldn't have asked, just something else to get paranoid about.

Out of interest, at what mileage did this failure occur?
