Unconnected pipe

I would be grateful if someone could let me know where the shiny pipe with white numbers in the centre of the pic is meant to be attached. I've had a look and can't find anywhere. Could this be the source of a rainbow stain on my drive this morning?




In the top pic it looks to be connected to the lower pipe but it is just resting on top.

Thanks. So I take it that if it is a vent pipe it doesn't connect to any thing? If it does I can't see where.
