Hi all,

I have had my 30d 2009 back from the garage, it went in for the dpf not regenerating, they have changed a few bits and assure me that the dpf is now regenerating, the offending parts were glow plugs and relay, the codes have not reappeared but a new one has  ....code 4501 so more parts have been replaced, here is the list of brand new parts now replaced......

egr valve,
vacuum solenoid,
glow plugs and control unit.

Although the dpf now seems to be working and there are no codes to say other wise the idrve has still got the dpf warning message on it asking to be taken to BMW service and the eml light is on (4501), can anyone advise how to remove the idrive message and also what else could be causing the 4501 code as this code was not there originally just the glow plugs etc code.
Thanks,
Paul
I had similar issues and went through a nightmare. Turned out to be thermostats and for the dpf to regen the coolent temp needs to run at about 90 degrees and exhaust temp needs to get up to atleast 300. The failed stats were keeping my coolent at 75 degrees and exhaust temp was low. So never a regen

Thanks for that,
They have said that the stats are working ok and they have also said that the car has regenerated now the glow plugs and control unit have been fitted?  Probably should have just junked the whole system like I thought in the first place :-(
cheers
I ended up buying the carly adaptor and downloading the pro app. Cost about £80 in total but can see in detail the dpf info and temp the stats are running at. It gives peace of mind and you can have confidence then of what the garages are telling u.
