If a tyre is the same Brand and type does it matter if I have the rears marked 107 V and the fronts 107W ?
Just got a chance to buy 2 W marked ones from a tyres place local at a bargain price but I have V marked on rear
Would it affect handling or Stopping distance at all
Thanks

The letter is for the speed rating. They should be the same, but the key is to have both the number and letter matching or higher than those on the tyre pressure plate. The figures used on the plate are the minimum that can be used on each axle. From memory, the E53 has different load ratings (the number) front and rear.
V is 149mph and W is 168mph, neither of which you are going to exceed.

Ideally, no, but whether it matters in reality? I doubt it. As long as the tyre plate on your B-pillar says you can use V or W ratings and the load rating numbers for that size are OK then you should be fine. You have the same pattern all round anyway.
V & W ratings with 107 load index are listed for 19” wheelsets.

Hi all
Was about to replace the fronts but seem to be reading poor things about these Bridgestone Turanza tyres, seems to say as a summer tyre they are very noisy, aso a bit more of concern is the wet grip and stopping distance,
Dont know if reports are X5 related or other cars but online reading dont appear good.
The 2 rears are same type but loads of tread so was going to keep same.
Thanks
