Hi folks,at the end of my tether with this car now, been off the road for a week with no brakes.basically replaced rear lines from the front to back and wouldent bleed.had a mechanic out now twice with a scanner at £80 a time.anyway still no pedal so changed master cylinder this morning and am about to call him out again, but before i do that his scanner picked up an ebv fault.will they still bleed even with this fault.

Put a decent scanner on most E53's and it will show an EBV fault, this will not in any way stop you bleeding your brakes, if you drained the system while changing the pipes your mechanic should be able to run the ABS pump of his scanner in order to circulate the fluid through the pump

[/quote]yes he been twice now with his scanner and still no joy.we have bled the brakes now but still no brake pressure.changed the master and servo aswell.only thing is i can think of us i had a bit of a problem to seal one of the rear lines where it goes into the top of the ab s pump.also the 4x4 light has been in from day one of owning the car.is there anything electronically that would stop you from having brake pressure.

I would think you could still get a pedal with the battery disconnect as it's basically a manual pump when you press on the pedal.
Well I know what I mean lol.

Only ever changed one but on a vw.
I got a second hand one with the exact same numbers on and no codeing needed.
