It's a copy made for the e53.
The P button doesn't work but the lights work with the connectors fitted.
You unplug the existing cables and fit these in between if you know what i meen.

Personally if I was to buy an E53 with one fitted it would go in the bin.....or on ebay.

I was happy to accept my E53 for what it was and kept it looking original.

Horses for courses.......if fitting this will bring happiness to you then great.

I bought one of these a year ago - £120.

It is nasty, it vibrates & rattles, feels cheap & tacky, and looks like some sort of sex toy for perverts.
Worst £120 I ever spent.

I opened it up after I refitted the original X5 Gear Knob, & in all honesty it is actually worth £20 at best in my opinion.

I bought the Chromiumtech one for my old E93, it worked fine for 2 years until it failed 2 days before I part exchanged the car, luckily it failed on the drive as the gear release button fell into the knob and it wouldn't move out of park.
Pulled out the original and refitted it in 5 minutes , all was well.

Must admit it does feel a bit flimsy.
I might give it a try as i think the stick just pull's out i think that is how anybody know for certain ???.
Could take a pic while it's fitted and working to put on that auction site we all know.
