Some time ago & lifted my X5 by 50mm all round... & widened the wheel track too.

The rear was lifted 50mm simply by easing the levelling sensors to raise the rear by exactly 50mm each side - achieved by balancing the front end on a single Jack under the center of the vehicle with a beam bar under the bottom swivvel joints.
It took an hour to sort properly.

The front was lifted by inserting 50mm machined spacers, 40mm wide with domed tops, that were thread tapped & there fore could thread onto the original strut top studs & then be bolted thru the original body holes.

The domed spacers allowed for the strut top to be moved 20mm toward the center of the vehicle each side.
So, some careful drilling to slot the strut top 9mm bores centerwards.
When the strut was pushed to the body in the tower, the spacers can be eased toward the vehicle center & then lock the top mount bolts off.

The end result is that the tops of the wheels/tyres are pulled in toward the body center by about 1.5 degrees.
This small adjustment can be visibly seen when stood in front of the vehicle when the springs have settled after a few maneuvers around the driveway.

The next step is to acquire a set of matching standard rear wheels, so you can fit 285x45x19'ns all round

a set of 30mm rear wheel spacers on the rear & 15mm wheel Spacers on the front.
This selection of specific spacers sets a matching track width Front & Rear.

The hardest OIL filled shockers for the rear.

I did this on my D-Sport 2 years ago. 17,000 motorway miles... & just put a new set of 4 budget Accelera tyres on yesterday... So it's safe to say the experiment worked.

The outer edge front tyre scrub ceased & the new set of 4 tyres fitted have worn evenly over the whole tyre width, if anything more in the tyre center as I run at 34 psi to avoid rim damage from Staffordshires' notorious potholes.

The handling is like driving on rails, very precise, very secure cornering... & a much more imposing brutish  look.

Its interesting to note, that the set-up actually allows my D-Sport to match & often exceed the handling of my partners Mercedes E-Class AMG.... which is worth £45,000 more than my old 2005 X5.

Pictures on request by PM, unless some one will load pics here for me, as I cannot get pics to load.
