HELP REQUIRED ON HOW TO REMOVAL THE FEMALE PINS FROM REPAIR
Hi all
Has anyone had any luck / know how to / or can point me to a post that shows how to removal these female pins out of the ISO 20-pin connector plug for the audio HU ??
One of the wire's has broken off so need to get the pin out to repair it, and as the connector is part of the loom that runs from front to back it's really not an option to removal / replace the harness from the car.

Those sockets are held in place by a barb at the pack of each termination. The barb allows the terminal to be pushed in from the back of the plastic assembly and it flicks out to prevent the terminal from pushing back out.

It will usually be on the surface opposite the opening - imagine a C shape and it will be on the back edge of the C. You will need something like a pin to get between the plastic of the shroud body and the terminal itself to push the barb in so that the wire & terminal can be pulled back and out. We use special tools which again look like a ‘C’ but that are slightly larger and slide over the terminal to all it to be removed. Those are expensive and specific to the terminal type.

You could try a bit of very thin tubing or a thick walled plastic straw. Something that will be enough to force the barb back in. Cut a slit in the straw etc so you can get it over the wire :)

I've purchased a set of the Terminal Release Tool Set for Car Electrical Terminals, only time will tell if they will be any good...............

Usually, yes. Sometimes , just sometimes you get ones with two barbs at the sides :headbang: It depends upon the evil ones who designed the connector bill of materials. The barb can be got at from the front on some too.

That’s an interesting set of tools though, those look pretty good to me - and are likely to be a small fraction of the price my techies have in their toolkits (coz they can!!) as those are about £80 a set ISTR. One of those ought to do it with the bottom left looking likely for a frontal attack :D
