There's been some talk of how to resolve this and apart from cleaning and reseating the blue and white connectors in the boot on the TV-Module, there is also the ribbon on the screen up front.
This MAY work, some forum members have stated degrees of success. This post outlines what to do once the screen is out of the car. Please note, no instructions on removal of screen for security reasons.
So if you get the washed out colour you could try this.
Get the top off the headunit, four screws located here:
This then shows where the ribbons are:
Two ribbons can be seen. They are held in place by the plastic white clips, using a fingernail or small flathead screwdriver get them to lift (only a couple of mm). The ribbons should release - lift the clip on both sides and on both ribbon connectors.
Same ribbons but a view also of the two round plastic pieces that the ribbons slot into, to stop them getting caught up when the unit slides up and down. Be careful to prise these out gently when lifting them up and away from the connections. Then clean them and reverse the process.
