I'm currently on one of my jaunts to Hampshire. Standard diesel here is between £1.979 and £1.999. A slight bonus is that, thanks to the high ambient temp., I got my best ever consumption from the F25 on the way here........... 44.3mpg. Tops my PB by 0.3mpg.

It is of course expensive and hard to accept, but still better and often cheaper than alternative means of travelling. Trains, when not on strike are like flying, still got to get to and from its contact points, which has a cost. Nothing beats independent door to door travel and it is costing more, we have to live with it.

Fuel is even dearer here in Greece and unlikely to change favourably any time soon.

The warmer temp does seen to make a difference I saw 36 mpg over 20 miles in the sd one day , it was 17c , in the morning I did 20 miles at 60 mph and got 28 mpg , another day same journey warmer and at 50 mph due to traffic 34 mpg Above 60 is no longer relevant in the current economic climate just blank that part of the speedo off from now on

85mph is the ultimate speed for BMW's to obtain maximum mpg always has been for decades....pity the the government doesnt realise this as BM's probably are not the only marque that do this.......

I haven't tried 85, but I noticed more than once that my old E46 330d was more fuel efficient at a constant(ish) 80 than constant(ish) 75. I put it down to BMWs being biased to autobahn cruising.

Not sure that works on an X5 Marti not that id get the chance with no motorway for 50 miles from me anyway

50 miles to a motorway nearly 80 for me but we do have a duel carriageway lol.

I'm going to play devil's advocate and say, the more this thread continues with almost daily price updates, I envisage Les Dawson and Roy Barraclough in pinafores heaving their tits whilst chatting over their dividing fence.

If daily updates of prices continue it will be the single most boring thread on the entire forum.

Prices have gone bonkers we all know that and we simply have to accept it and live with it. Bugger all we can do about it anyway

Sappireblack There are literally 3 active threads today and very few days were there are more than that and plenty of days with none so we can't be too choosy on the subject matter boring or otherwise . All forums struggle now to compete with facebook etc Its fuel prices , air supsension sag or egr codes take your pic

Active threads or lack of, endless updates on the price of fuel is imo boring. Its not going to change anytime soon, maybe never,. Do we each need to know the cost of fuel in Yorkshire, Leicestershire , Sussex. It serves no purpose that I can see. Its expensive now, its the new normal, a bit like covid

At least it keeps the forum alive, nothing worse than going to the new posts and seeing nothing, makes you want to not bother again, one doesn’t have to read them but at least it shows the forum is still going!
Although fu is expensive everywhere it’s interesting to see mpg and regional differences in prices.
