Just wondered if anybody has managed to link a samsung galaxy s20 ultra to their x5, mines a 2005 but cannot find my phone

Bluetooth in the E53 wasn't BMW's best effort, many have resorted to aftermarket systems
But before you do the BMW ULF has a small memory 4 IIRC. So have you cleared all old phones from its memory?

I can't get my X6 to recognise an iPhone 12 and the E46 won't find either an 11 or 12. BMW say 'unsupported'.
It may be that the version of Bluetooth (1.1 if memory serves) is now so old that it won't connect. The current generatios of phones seem to work with Bluetooth V2 or later, cirrent version is 5). Clearing the memory as above sometimes helps, but due to age it may not.
My hands free now goes through a Garmin satnav - it has live traffic (RTTI) via the phone too.
