winter wheels and tyre set up

Post by weirdfish » Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:03 pm

Guys, I know some of you run a winter set up and would like to pick your brains.
I've got the 4.6 and toying with the idea of a winter/off road set up, we've just purchased a piece of land and I need a vehicle that will cope with driving on it all year round, could go and buy a 4x4 truck but thought as the 4.6 sits on the drive most of the time I might as well use it.
I'd prefer the tyres to be as narrow as possible so any info would be great.

Type 69, 8.5 x 18 all round. I think 18" is the smallest diameter on a 4.6 🤔

Plenty of other options though. http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/

Saphire Black is correct 255 x 55x 18 is the size I always ran Vred Wintrac Extreme on the 4.6 as anything smaller doesn't clear the Brake caliper
In 12 years of towing a horse trailer in and out of muddy fields and light off road when out shooting we never needed help, just put the box in 3rd manually and she would dig in and move. Pulled a few others out though
Enjoy
